Complex Housing Panel

One of the key achievements this year has been the establishment of the Complex needs Housing Panel. This Panel meets on a monthly basis and involves strategic members of the Housing department and the Vulnerable People service. We identify those individuals who may struggle to access ordinary housing for a number of reasons. The panel works together to commission new models of care which address some of the most complex individuals trying to access housing in Conwy. One such project developed this year enabled a young care leaver to live independently in her own home and avoided the need for an expensive residential specialist placement out of county. This was achieved through strategic planning with children’s services, housing services and vulnerable people’s services.
